What Happens to My Waste After Collection?

Licensed Waste Carrier: CBDU667329·Fully Insured·Based in the East Midlands

It's a fair question to ask before you hand your rubbish over to anyone - and the honest answer is that what happens next depends on what's being disposed of. As a licensed waste carrier, we're legally required to handle and route everything correctly, and we're happy to explain exactly how that works.

Licensed waste carrier & waste transfer notes

Being a licensed waste carrier means we're registered with the Environment Agency to legally collect and transport waste. Every job we complete is backed by a waste transfer note, which records what was collected and confirms it was disposed of properly. This matters more than people realise - if you hire someone unlicensed for rubbish removal and disposal and they fly-tip it, the liability can still fall back on you as the original waste producer.

Sorting & recycling

Once collected, waste is sorted rather than sent straight to landfill. Where furniture or items are still in good, usable condition, we'll donate them where we can - there's no fixed charity partner, so this is arranged case by case depending on the job and what's usable. Materials like metal, wood and cardboard are separated out for recycling rather than general waste.

Where different waste types go

Why it matters

This is especially relevant for landlords, letting agents and businesses in places like Derby or Peterborough who need a clear paper trail for compliance, not just a van that turns up and takes items away. If in doubt, always ask to see a waste carrier's licence before booking any rubbish removal and disposal job.
